About the Greene Leaf Therapeutic Community
The Greene Leaf Therapeutic Community Program serves with distinction as the only residential substance abuse Therapeutic Community (TC) Program within a jail facility in the state of Ohio. The Greene Leaf Program is a six month residential alcohol and drug treatment program that uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide intensive substance abuse treatment following the Therapeutic Community (TC) modality of treatment. Since commencing operations in 2002, the Greene Leaf TC has diverted over 350 felons from Ohio’s prisons with an estimated cost savings for taxpayers of nearly $8 million.
Mission Statement: The Greene Leaf Therapeutic Community develops, implements, and provides a professional, comprehensive, 180-day residential substance abuse treatment program serving the needs of the community and locally sentenced offenders using the Therapeutic Community Treatment Modality.
Greene Leaf Therapeutic Community currently operates two programs: Men’s Residential and Women’s Residential Program. The Men’s Residential Program, which began in 2002, currently houses 32 inmates and is located at 2295 Greeneway Blvd, Xenia, Ohio, inside the Adult Detention Center. The Women’s Residential Program, which began in 2006, currently houses 20 inmates and is located at 77 E. Market Street, Xenia, Ohio, inside the Greene County Jail.
Each program employees two full time counselors who work with the clients individually and as a group to facilitate the recovery process.
During their treatment stay, clients have the opportunity to address issues related to alcohol and drug use and its effects on their lives.

As we enter the Women's Greene Leaf Program we leave behind our old ways of life and look forward to accountability for ourselves. Giving encouragement to ourselves and one another. Forgiveness is displayed to each other and to ourselves. Using Honesty in all aspects of our lives, practicing Integrity at all times. We will Respect all human beings, show Responsibility in all our affairs and continue Sobriety day by day. Spiritual guidance in our everyday routine and the Willingness to help others will comfort us. By using all these values we will become the people God meant us to be. We look forward to serving our families and communities upon our release. Knowing we have the knowledge and the skills to be successful.

We at Greene Leaf are committed to growing and learning in this time of rebirth. We have made choices that led to our lifestyles of addiction and crime. We are working to better ourselves and our Greene Leaf family by being accountable, dependable, and honest. We will respect ourselves and our Greene Leaf family. We will earn an education that will help us be positive role models and hold our peers responsible for their behaviors out of care and concern.
