Greene County CASA
Imagine
Imagine being taken away from the only family you have ever known, because they have violated your trust. Then you are taken to a strange place to live “temporarily” until a permanent solution can be found. Through the eyes of a child who has been abused or neglected, the world is a frightening place. If the present uncertainty is not enough to make them insecure, there is always the future. Fearful and anxious is no way to go through childhood.
Lost
The fact is most children who are taken from their homes are placed in an already overburdened system. They can get lost for months, even years. We lose some children forever. Every day at least 3 children die as a result of abuse and neglect. If your heart has been broken too many times by the tragic stories of the children who have been abused and neglected, now is your opportunity to reach out and make a real difference in a child's life.
Every child deserves a safe,
permanent home.
Volunteer
This is where CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) steps in. Greene County CASA is an organization in Greene County, Ohio that trains community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who are in the court system as a result of abuse, neglect, or dependency. These children need YOU to speak up for them, to guide them through the legal system, and to make sure they don't fall through the cracks and get lost. Since 1996, Greene County CASA has been speaking up for children. Join the team and become an advocate for a child, or support the team with a donation, or by offering any skills and time you have.
