Treasurer’s Office and Library Partner for Taxpayers

Press release

Xenia, Ohio, July 1st, 2019 — The Greene County Treasurer and Beavercreek Community Library have partnered to increase the convenience of paying real estate taxes for victims of the recent tornadoes. 2018 second half real estate taxes must be received or postmarked by July 19, 2019 to avoid penalties.

“Partnering with the library as a central location for people to drop off payments seemed like a natural thing to do to provide a convenient, safe place with extended hours,” says Greene County Treasurer Kraig A. Hagler.

Library personnel agreed to place a locked payment box at their front desk.  Additionally, Hagler will be available to provide one-on-one consultation with taxpayers on Wednesday, July 10th and 17th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the library’s media room.

Hagler also reminds residents that they can apply with the auditor’s office for a deduction in this year’s value due to the devastation, which may result in a reduction in next year’s taxes.  Forms are available at the library or by going online at and searching “destroyed property.”
