ADOPT-A-ROOM RENOVATION PROJECT |
| |
|
| Are you an individual, a civic
organization, a business or a church that holds
the community's aged and disabled in high
esteem? Do you look for projects that
support and enhance community and quality of
life? If the answer is "yes", then we
invite you to join us in an opportunity to
reshape the future of residents for Greenewood
Manor, also known as the 'Greene County Home'. |
 |
Established in 1829, the 'Greene County Home' offers a legacy to the
community. Over the decades, residents have occupied four
different buildings - the current location having been dedicated in
August, 1977. While Greenewood Manor provides a respectable and
dignified environment for its residents, it is the desire to establish a
home-like environment within a building indicative of the 1977 model of
medicine and treatment - clinical and institutionalized.
Therefore, an "Adopt-a-Room" campaign has been launched in effort
to "blend a partnership of government and civicness."
|
How can you help?
A donation of $ 1,300 will adopt one resident
room. However, no donation is too large or
too small. Re-furbished rooms will feature
new lighting fixtures and window treatments,
freshly painted walls,
chair rail, refinished doors and personal
telephone capability. Donors, through
monetary donations, will provide for the
remodeling supplies and Greene County employees
will provide the labor.
|
. |
Where may donations be sent?
Donations, in any amount, may be payable to
'Greenewood Manor' and mailed to:
Greenewood Manor
Attn: Administrator
711 Dayton-Xenia Road
Xenia, Ohio 45385.
Contributions will be earmarked and deposited in
an established trust fund account designated for
the "Adopt-a-Room" project. In
appreciation, recognition of donors will be
featured within the facility.

“The support of the Greene
County community has been fantastic,” states
Greenewood Administrator Denise Percival.
“Greenewood Manor provides a respectable and
dignified environment for our residents;
however, we knew we needed to update our
interior. The renovation project will allow us
to give our residents an environment that feels
more like a home and less like a hospital,”
explained Percival.
|
|
“One hall has been
renovated through the assistance of many
individuals and businesses. The fresh
appearance of the renovated hallway presents a
warm and comforting homelike presentation.
We’re excited to announce that the next hallway
to be under construction is made possible
through a generous $15,000 donation from George
Oberer, Jr. and the Oberer Companies. The
entire project, thus far, has been positively
received,” states Percival.
