INTENSIVE PROBATION SUPERVISION

Program Description

The Intensive Probation Supervision Program has been in existence since 1995. The  program serves to provide increased supervision, support, and structure to high-risk, felony offenders who might otherwise be incarcerated.

Program Components

The I.P.S. program offers the following:

¨ In-home supervision, mediation, guidance and support

¨ Case Management and Family Consultation

¨ Employment Assistance

¨ Recreational activities

AFTERCARE PROGRAM

Program Description

The  Aftercare Program targets youths who are in the process of transitioning from rehabilitation and other placement programs into their homes and communities.

The Aftercare Program is designed to incorporate elements of youths' treatment programs into the settings to which they return.

Program Components

The Aftercare Program offers the following:

 ¨ Face to Face contact with Court officers on a daily basis

¨ Alcohol and Drug Intervention Support Group

¨ G.E.D. Assistance

¨ All other facets of the I.P.S. Program

   

STAFFING

The Intensive Probation Supervision and Aftercare Program is comprised of one director and two full-time surveillance officers. The director oversees the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of program operations. The director also provides case management to youths and families while supervising surveillance staff.

The surveillance staff perform a myriad of duties including: conducting unannounced visits, and other face to face visits to youths on a daily basis, serving to mediate, counsel, and support youths and families in crisis, securing and transporting youths to Juvenile Detention, facilitating communication between youths, families and the Court, providing structured recreational and arts experiences for youth, assisting youths with employment opportunities as well as applying the electronic monitoring system to any Court youth referred.
