Mr. Schmidt has been Greene County Treasurer since October 1, 1983. As County Treasurer he serves as the Chief Investment Officer for the County and is a member of the County Budget Commission, County Board of Revision, Automatic Data Processing Board and the Investment Advisory Committee.

Education:  Xenia High School graduate; Miami University, Oxford, B.S. in Accounting; Stetson University College of Law, Juris Doctor degree; University of Missouri at Kansas City, L.L.M. (master of laws degree).  I have obtained, as required, annual continuing education credits through the Ohio State Treasurer's Office, as well as the mandatory education credits to maintain my CPA and law licenses.

Professional Experience:  Greene County Treasurer since 1983.  I collect $ 200 million in taxes and invest $ 90 million annually.  In 1975, I began to collect delinquent real estate and personal property taxes for then Greene County Treasurer Joe Finney.  I am a Certified Public Accountant and attorney.  I served with the U.S. Army, 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized) in Vietnam, obtaining the rank of sergeant.

Community Involvement and Public Service:  Past President of the County Treasurers Association of Ohio; member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; past president of the Greene County Bar Association; Greene County Fish and Game Association member; Greene County Historical Society member; Treasurer of the Greene County Republican Central Committee; member The American Legion - Foody Cornwell Post 95, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8312, Vietnam Veterans of America - Brewer Chapter plus a member of numerous other organizations.
