AREA COUNTY AUDITORS APPOINTED TO STATEWIDE COMMITTEE

Luwanna A. Delaney, Greene County Auditor, was recently appointed to serve on the statewide Executive Committee of the County Auditors' Association of Ohio (CAAO). Also appointed from the Southwest District of the CAAO were Linda L. Fraley, Clermont County Auditor and Jim Williamson, Madison County Auditor. Pickaway County Auditor Melissa Betz, president of the Southwest District, made the appointments. The CAAO executive committee assumes leadership of the executive agenda for the CAAO at a time of increased activity and visibility. The committee works closely with the members of the Ohio General Assembly and other County Auditors to monitor and suggest legislative proposals, which impact local taxpayers. Some of the CAAO initiatives in recent years were to impose continuing education requirements on County Auditors, improve ballot language when taxing authority puts a levy request on the ballot, and expand real estate tax relief for disaster victims through out Ohio.

The CAAO includes all 88 Ohio County Auditors. Now in its133rd year, it was established to promote and protect the interests of the taxpayers of Ohio and to improve and administration of county government.
