Greene County and its Auditor were both recently
honored by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
The county was awarded a certificate of achievement for excellence in
finance by the association for its comprehensive annual report (CAFR).
The certificate is the highest form of recognition available in the
area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
Greene County Auditor was honored with an Award of Financial Reporting, which is
awarded to the person primarily responsible for assembling the CAFR.
The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the standards of
the program, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure"
to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and groups to read
and use the CAFR.
