    First Fridays is a fun-filled community event held in downtown Xenia on the first Friday of each month, May - Sept., from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. It features live music and street entertainers (magicians, clowns, caricaturists, etc); activities for kids; special sales and events at downtown businesses; displays from local non-profit organizations; and plenty of food, art, and retail vendors.

  3. Beavercreek Popcorn Festival

    September 6 - September 7 @ Dayton Xenia Rd between N. Fairfield Rd and Meadow Bridge Dr

    The Beavercreek Popcorn Festival is held annually the weekend after Labor Day (September 6 & 7th 2014) celebrated by the Beavercreek Community. Located at Dayton-Xenia Road between Fairfield and Meadow Bridge, this not-be-missed family affair and community event is found in front of Beavercreek Plaza. The festival has over 200 booths with festival foods, tantalizing treats, special services, creative crafts, and sensational specialties made with Popcorn. The festival would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Please help us and the Beavercreek community out by patronizing these companies. The festival includes a children's area and lots of entertainment. There are additional special events throughout the weekend with the 5k Popcorn Run and Car Show on Sunday.

  4. Xenia Community Festival

    Xenia Community Festival 2014 Returns to Shawnee Park The Xenia Community Festival Committee is proud to announce a new--but old--location for the Xenia Community Festival this September 19 and 20--Shawnee Park. The Festival will retain its Title Sponsor, Greene Memorial Hospital, and will feature Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers as the headline entertainment on Saturday night, September 20. The Balloon Glow is being planned for Friday night. Other enhancements for the 2014 Festival are currently in the planning stages. The Festival will need to leave its previous location due to construction of the new City Hall in downtown Xenia. "The Committee felt moving the Festival now would be the best strategy," said Diane Hollenbeck, President of the Committee. "We're happy to see the City improving and we think the move will be great for the Festival and the community." "It's good to see this group think out of the box, not give up, and be proactive--to keep the Festival going

  5. United States Air Force Marathon

    The 2014 Air Force Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K will be held on September 20, 2014. The Start and Finish Lines are at the National Museum of the United States Air force, 1100 Spaatz Street, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433. Start Time is 7:25 a.m. for the Wheeled Division Race and 7:30 a.m. for the Full Marathon and 10K. The Half Marathon's start time is 8:30 a.m.

    The Market to Market Relay offers a team running relay from Cincinnati to Dayton covering 76 miles over 19 stages on a varied course. Teams from 6 to 8 runners hop in a van, run, rest and repeat---the course follows the Little Miami Scenic Trail, paved streets, back roads and urban trails.   3. Preschool Nature Play!

    Preschoolers are invited each Monday for a play date in nature with GCP&T naturalists. Toddlers will be encouraged to learn their numbers, letters, shapes, colors and more. Curriculum is based on preschool state requirements. Designed for ages 4 to 6; children must be potty trained. All play dates will be held 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

  9. GCP&T Volunteer Training: Butterflies and Insects

  10. Xenia Community Festival Bike Rodeo

    Have fun with the Greene County Parks & Trail’s Trail Sentinels for the 2014 Xenia Community Festival Bike Rodeo. Participants must be under the age of 16 and will learn bike safety and skills through a variety of rodeo stations. The first 200 participants will receive a bike helmet courtesy of Greene Memorial Hospital, K & G Bike Center and the Greene County Safety Council.

  11. Monarch and Migration

    Monarch butterflies are one of the few insects that migrate but their populations have dropped dramatically in the past few years. Help us monitor their numbers by tagging the butterflies. Work with a naturalist to learn how to tag butterflies and how to monitor their southern travels. Collect and tag monarchs with a naturalist. Long pants recommended.

  12. Tails on Trails 5K Run/Walk

    Join us as we hit the paved trails with our favorite four-footed companions for a leisurely walk or an exuberant run with fellow dog lovers. Meet at Old Town Reserve for a 5K walk along the scenic and paved Little Miami Scenic Trail. All dogs must be leashed. Pre-registration is preferred with on-site registration available.
