The Greene County Department of Development offers one-on-one financial counseling to residents of Greene County and surrounding areas. The Getting Ready Program gives families and individuals the tools they need to improve their finances. Money management skills, along with an understanding of credit and debt, are very important. For those who need to obtain a loan or credit card to pay for goods or services, but may have issues which may prevent them from doing so, Debt, Credit and Money Management Counseling can help. For those who simply need help managing their money, would like help making a plan to reduce debt, and/or need to plan for and manage their future spending, Money Management Counseling sessions can help. All sessions are one-on-one, with no limit to the amount of time the counselor will spend working with participants. These sessions are sometimes part of the Home Buyer Education Series, Pre- and Post-Purchase Counseling, and Foreclosure Prevention/Intervention Counseling programs.
