Partnerships for Success
(PfS)

  • Partnerships for Success members adopted a new logo and are currently working on a website.  To learn more about PfS call 848-3810 or 562-5600.
  • One of the PfS group’s major projects is to install a Frisbee Golf Course at Bellbrook Middle School.

FAST FACTS:

  • In the Sugarcreek School District, 169 children ages 5 to 17 are living in poverty.  (2007)

  • A single parent working full time at minimum wage for a year would make $15,184 before taxes.  (2009)

  • 2/3 of households with income below the poverty level rent versus ¼ of households at or above the poverty level.

  • 12% to 16% of the families of householders that worked less than full-time and year-round lived in poverty.

  • 29% of people living below the poverty level received public assistance.  (1999)

  • Public assistance only boosts (or keeps) approximately 7% of families out of poverty.

  • 12% of families with children live in poverty.

  • 34% of female headed homes with children and no husband live in poverty.

  • For those 25 and older:  Poverty rates are highest among those without a high school diploma (18.9%) and lowest among those with a Bachelor’s degree or higher (2.6%).

  • In 2004 there were 38.2 million Americans living in households experiencing food insecurity. In 2000 - 495,000 children were reportedly experiencing food insecurity in Ohio.

  • In 2002 the average food stamp benefit was $81.00 in Ohio.

  • 9.2% of Greene County residents are reported to be living in poverty.
