Children Have the Right...

to be treated as an interested
and affected person and not as a pawn, possession or chattel by either
or both parents.
-
to grow to maturity in the home
environment that will best guarantee an opportunity for the child to mature
to responsible citizenship.
-
to love each parent, without feeling
guilt, pressure or rejection.
-
to receive love, care, discipline
and protection from both parents.
-
to know the non custodial parent
and to have the benefits of such parent=s love and guidance through adequate
visitation.
-
to have a positive and constructive
relationship with both parents, with neither of them permitted to degrade
or downgrade the other in the mind of the child.

to express feelings about divorce,
such as anger, sadness or fear.

to a positive and constructive
ongoing relationship with each parent.

Not
to make adult decisions.

to remain a child without being
asked to take on parental responsibilities or be an adult companion for
parents.

to the most adequate level of
economic support that can be provided by the best efforts of both parents.

to be provided with the same opportunities
for education the child would have had if the family unit had not been
dissolved.

games parents play to hurt each other or be put in the middle of their
