Maple Sugaring & Annual Pancake Breakfast

Sweet Fun for Everyone!

FROM SAP TO SYRUP.....Come experience the magic of Maple Sugar season at the Narrows Reserve in Beavercreek! We tap the trees at the Narrows and boil it to create our very own maple syrup. There are a variety of ways to enjoy the magic.

We are looking for corporate sponsors to help with the overall cost of this program and the breakfast in March. The benefits include exposure of your business not only to regional visitors, but statewide as well.

Rent A Sugar Bucket

See your own sugar maple bucket collecting sap this season. Only $50 per bucket for the year. Families who rent buckets receive a free pancake breakfast (see below) for up to 4 people.


School & Scout Opportunities

If you have a classroom or group (10+) that would like a private tour of the Maple Sugar Camp, special days are available for you; 90 minute tours are available and must be completed by 5 p.m. Call Cris Barnett at 937-562-7469 or email her here to schedule a date. Tours are $2 for residents, $3 for non-residents per person. This program meets State of Ohio Science Standards.

Maple Syrup Cooking Contest

Bring in your special creations with maple syrup along with the complete recipe to the Greene County Parks administrative office between February 25 and 26, 8 am - 4 pm or on Saturday, February 27, 8 am - 12 pm to the Narrows Reserve Nature Center. Judging will be held Saturday, February 27 at 2 pm at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center. Contestants need not be present to win. The winner will receive breakfast for four at the Pancake Breakfast on March 6. All recipes will be used to create the maple syrup recipe booklet that will be available for purchase at the Pancake Breakfast.

 

Annual Maple Sugar Pancake Breakfast and Special Brunch

Breakfast: Start your day by enjoying a hearty breakfast of sausage and pancakes with real Narrows Reserve maple syrup, along with coffee, juice or milk.

Brunch: Enjoy a special brunch served to you in a private setting in the Sugar Camp. Brunch includes: hot pancakes or waffles with Narrows Reserve maple syrup, sausage, fruit, coffee/tea and juice. There is a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 per group and reservations are required for the following times: 8:30 am, 10 am, 11:30 am and 1 pm.

After breakfast or brunch, take a tour of the sugar camp to see how the syrup is made. Tours are free with your purchase of breakfast or brunch!

Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Rd., Beavercreek.

Parking is available at the Russ Research Center on Indian Ripple Road with a free shuttle to take you to the breakfast or the Sugar Camp for the tour.

Breakfast

  • $5 resident/$7 non-resident for ages 7+
  • $3 resident/$5 non-resident for ages 3-6
  • Under age 3 is free

Brunch

  • $10 resident per person
  • $12 non-resident per person

Sugar Camp Tour Only

  • $2 resident/$3 non-resident for ages 6+
  • Under age 6 is free

Map / Directions

From Dayton: 35 E to Factory Rd. in Beavercreek and turn right. Turn right at Indian Ripple Rd. and then right into the Russ Research Center parking lot. A shuttle will take you to the breakfast or tour.

From Xenia: 35 W to Factory Rd. in Beavercreek and turn left. Follow directions above.
