POSITION
PURPOSE : Conducts and
coordinates retention and expansion visits to various businesses within Greene
County. Works
with each community identifying companies establishing questionnaires,
scheduling and coordinating visits.
Collects, overviews, and analyzes data. Recommends conclusions,
schedules meetings to report back on results. Follows up on
recommendations with communities and companies. Prepares
correspondence, reports and graphs for presentation.
Acts as liaison to Pre-Employment Training Program
to enhance local labor by following-up with various k-12’s, colleges and
placement agencies; Develops rapport with alumni association of colleges and
universities in Greene County.
Develops and maintains strong, trusting
relationships with local business owners through regular business outreach
visits (solo and with local peers).
Attends networking events - attends open houses and corresponds by
telephone calls and emails. Responds to local business needs - collects data,
and keeps accurate records of local business needs and stats (employment,
status of location, machinery & equipment needs, etc.). Tracks business activity throughout the
County (data collected from business visits, newspaper articles, press
releases, networking events and committee meetings). Reports business data
to supervisor, and non-proprietary business data to area committees and local
communities.
Develops an understanding of the economic
development resources available to local business and strategically markets
resources. Understands
the needs of local businesses in order to direct business owners to local,
regional, state and/or federal resources that will help the needs of the
businesses. Provides information on incentives or assistance that can be
provided to companies in Greene County. Assesses a
variety of variables including industrial site locations, availability of
resources, program scope, and accuracy of existing data. Monitors and assists in updating excess
property file including buildings and land. Serves on committees & advisory
groups on behalf of Greene county Dept. of
Development; attends meetings, conferences and task groups. Performs research
pertinent to community, economic development and businesses throughout Greene
County. Develops
relationships with area lending institutions, area colleges and universities,
area job placement and training organizations, and area trade organizations, in
order to serve the business community and provide them with resources.
Works with
realtors, developers and site selection consultants to market properties in
Greene County, including properties owned by the County. Uses Loopnet, Ohio Insite and the
County’s Development website to market properties in the county for local
business expansion opportunities and out-of-area business attraction opportunities
alike. Develops state of the
art marketing materials (both hard copy and electronic media) to advertise the
positive attributes of the county to a variety of audiences to include local
and out-of-county residents and businesses.
LICENSING / MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS: Associates Degree in
Community Development, Economic Development, Social Services, Business
Administration, or a related field and two (2) years of public relations,
community/economic development, social services or credit analysis experience;
or, any combination of education & experience sufficient to successfully
perform the essential duties of the position. A Bachelor’s degree is
preferred.
Must have excellent
communication & writing skills and the ability to develop state-of-the-art

–Adult Probation Department is seeking an Adult Probation Officer responsible for supervising offenders under
the Court’s Jurisdiction. The Officer will conduct interviews with
probationers by using motivational interviewing and cognitive restructuring
techniques; prepare written and oral reports detailing recommendations for the
Court’s consideration, and is required to attend various Court hearings
providing testimony for the appropriate disposition of cases pertaining to the
offenders under their supervision. The officer is also responsible for
filing/completing various motions relating to those cases assigned to them. The
officer will have arrest authority and is required to successfully complete a
basic firearms course. The officer will also be required to annually qualify
with their weapon and have a valid driver’s license.
Salary Range is $17.00 per hour
dependent upon experience and qualifications.
Grant
Funded Position- This is a
grant-funded position for 18 months. The grant may be extended an additional 24
months by the grant provider.

ensure the rights of victims; engage in prevention partnerships with all
criminal justice officials, agencies, institutions, and treatment providers;
ensure proper mental health and substance abuse treatment is provided to the
offenders; monitor the progress of Court ordered treatment programs; and to
facilitate the re-socialization and reintegration of offenders through
accountability and competency thereby lowering the offender’s risk of
recidivism and lowering the risk to the public.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (ILLUSTRATIVE

Responsible for the training, supervision, and daily care
of individuals with developmental disabilities.
The acquisition of functional skills, and Individual
Planning development based on choice and preferences of the person served is
the primary goal of this position.

Responsibilities:
Position will be required to drive agency Van and supervise
developmental disabled adults.
Essential Functions: Non-Vocational
• Timely
and consistent attendance.
• Develop
daily classroom activities and community-based outings that emphasize
educational, cultural, and recreational subjects.
• Perform,
on a scheduled basis, assigned tasks such as lunch supervision of clients,
attendant care/toileting, break duty, bus duty, and safety requirements
associated with
tests of emergency plans and hazard
identification.
• Complete
and maintain all regulatory documentation: Caretracker
system, Medicaid and Adult Services filled service requirements.
• Participate
in Individual Service Planning, as assigned by supervisor.
• Participate
in staff and organization meetings as required.
• Participate
in all staff trainings and in-service sessions for professional development and
skill acquisition.
• Maintain
work area cleanliness daily; organize work area, eliminate clutter.
• Develop
and maintain a working knowledge of CARF and Adult Services rules.
• Fulfill
all MUI and UIR documentation/reporting requirements in accordance with Greene
County Board of Developmental Disabilities policies.
• Ensure,
at all times, the Rights of Individuals with disabilities.
Vocational:
• Timely
and consistent attendance.
• Assist
client workers in work areas; supervise and train in accordance with their
Individual Plan goals.
• Provide
guidance and supervision to clients for workplace safety, work site values and
regulations, and client rights.
• Ensure
production requirements are fulfilled daily.
• Provide
consistent documentation for Caretraker systems at
kiosk sites; and ensure daily documentation is accurate and completed each
shift.
• Assist
in maintaining efficient material and product flow within the designated work
area.
• Participate
in staff and organization meetings as required.
• Participate
in all staff trainings and in-service sessions for professional development and
skill acquisition.
• Fulfill
all MUI and UIR documentation/reporting requirements in accordance with Greene
County Board of Developmental Disabilities policies.
• May
be required to drive a truck or van in support of Greene Inc. business units.
Performs
related duties as required. Any one position may not include all of
the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties, which may be
performed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs): Any combination of education and
experience.
Knowledge of:
OSHA safety rules and procedures (to be developed during probation
period). Agency
policies and procedures.
Skills in:
Interacting with people; ability to work with machinery.
Ability to: Lift up to 25 pounds frequently; Must have full
range of motion in upper body; bending and lifting required. Ability to recognize unusual or
threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities. Stand, sit, or walk for lengthy periods
of time.
QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE(S)
REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalency. As required by law or rule, must
successfully pass a criminal background check through BCII, Nurse Registry
check, ODODD Abuse Registry check and Office of Inspector General Check. Must
successfully complete pre-employment physical exam including drug test. Must be registered by
the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Must maintain driving
record in accordance with GCBDD policy. Must successfully
complete 180-day probation period.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Non-Vocational:
May be required to be trained in the use of a number of
related equipment such as but not limited to computers, CareTracker
kiosk, mechanical lift devices for toileting/transfers, and other equipment
utilized in the Atrium Center.
Vocational:
May be required to be trained in the use of a number of
production related equipment such as but not limited to, Laundry equipment,
document destruction equipment, janitorial equipment, and office equipment such
as computers, CareTracker kiosk, and other related
equipment. Maybe required to drive
non-CDL trucks/Vans.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions may exist that are not such as
normally exist in the occupation of the public employee. These conditions may include exposure to
bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases,
potentially infectious material, potentially hazardous materials, and/or
aggressive behavior. May be required to work a varied schedule which may include
weekends and holidays.

Sanitary Engineering
Manager (Wastewater Division) - PCN 42000
Hours of work: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. , Monday - Friday
Minimum Salary: $21.95/hr.
POSITION PURPOSE: Supervises management staff within
division: sets priorities & assigns tasks accordingly; monitors performance
& work quality of subordinates; interviews perspective employees; makes
recommendations for hiring, disciplinary actions & termination; recommends
employee requests for leave; assesses employee training needs & arranges
necessary training sessions.
Develops long-term operational
strategies for consistent & effective operations of plants: prepares &
monitors division budget, defining present & future needs; obtains bids
from vendors & ensures that proposed purchases meet budgetary constraints.
Ensures that division is operating in
compliance with federal, state and local laws, rules & regulations by
monitoring performance of employees & process equipment & analyzing
various testing reports: submits various reports to EPA & superiors within
the Sanitary Engineering Department.
Monitors facilities to determine where & when
buildings & grounds are in need of attention or maintenance: manages
on-going inventory of materials & equipment determining timetable &
quantity of materials to be purchased.
Gathers data & collates information to prepare a
variety of reports & correspondence for county officials, outside agencies
& general public.
Acts as a liaison with other divisions, departments,
agencies, contractors, organizations & general public: represents
department at meetings & conferences; gives presentations to general public
to acquaint them with processes, propose & department goals.
Performs miscellaneous emergency
duties to assist in maintaining services under all conditions: performs
emergency services to clear roads & walks; assists with operations during
heavy workloads caused by storms or other unusual conditions.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s
Degree in a closely related field with five (5) years of progressively
responsible experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and
experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job,
as listed in the position description.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Current Ohio Class IV Wastewater
Certification and a valid
