SOFTENER SETTINGS
Public Water
supplies in Greene County are all from underground
sources, and all pass through limestone, making
the water in this area very hard. Typically water
softeners should be set to at least 27 grains per gallon.
In areas where iron is found in the groundwater,
it is removed at the treatment plant. Iron levels
found in our distribution system are typically
below detectable limits (bdl) and should not be a problem.
