WATER SOFTENER SETTINGS

Public Water supplies in Greene County are all from underground sources, and all pass through limestone, making the water in this area very hard. Typically water softeners should be set to at least 27 grains per gallon. In areas where iron is found in the groundwater, it is removed at the treatment plant. Iron levels found in our distribution system are typically below detectable limits (bdl) and should not be a problem.
