SANITARY SEWERAGE AND SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITIES

For the entire Greater Greene-Little Miami Sewer District where water usage does not constitute the only discharge to the sanitary sewer and/or all water usage is not metered by Greene County Office of Sanitary Engineering or its approved agent, connection charges will be determined as follows:

(i)   The Sanitary Engineer shall estimate the peak flow to be contributed by the proposed connection, based upon the Ohio E.P.A. “Sewage Flow Guide” from Water Supply, Sewerage and Sewage Treatment for Public Buildings in Ohio, (as amended).

(ii)  The Sanitary Engineer shall determine the water meter size necessary for that peak flow.

(iii) Connection charges will then be established in accordance with Section on connection fees above.

Connection charges for the Greater Greene-Little Miami Sewer District served by the County under an agreement with a person, firm or corporation that specifies a greater connection charge than that charged for entirely Board of County Commissioner owned facilities, shall be the connection charge established under said agreement.

Equalization Charge

Certain County constructed sewerage projects require that when a property abutting the sewerage is split or subdivided, each newly created lot or parcel pay the equivalent of the tentative assessment for the project in cash with the connection charge at the time of obtaining the tap-in permit, before making connection to the sewerage system.  The equalization charge (if any) for a particular property may be obtained upon request from the Greene County Office of Sanitary Engineering.

Other Expenses - All other costs involved in a connection described in Item l above, particularly the construction of the service line from the County sewer to the house or building, shall be paid by the applicant directly to any person or business registered by the County to perform such service.

Irrigation Credit

A special water and sewer rate structure for single family residential domestic service accounts will be used during the two (2) summer billing quarters in determining water and sewer charges to account for water used for outside or other irrigation purposes and not returned to the sanitary sewerage system.  The special rate will eliminate sewer charges for all domestic residential service water in excess of one-hundred  twenty-five percent (125%) of the metered amount used during the previous two (2) winter billing quarters.  In the event that a complete winter season average cannot be established, the winter usage will be based on 24,000 gallons x 125%, which equals 30,000 gallons each quarter (60,000 gallons per winter season).

Water usage in excess of one-hundred and twenty-five percent (125%) of the metered amount used during the previous two (2) winter billing quarters will be charged at the Irrigation Service Rate in accordance with the Schedule of Water Rates currently in effect.  In the event that a complete winter season average cannot be established, the winter usage will be based on 24,000 gallons x 125%, which equals 30,000 gallons each quarter (60,000 gallons per winter season).

METER READ    SUMMER BILLING PERIOD     WINTER BILLING PERIOD

April                               April – September                               October – March
May                                May – October                                    November – April
June                                June – November                                December - May

             EXAMPLE:

            November Bill

Winter – Usage from meter reading date in October to meter reading date in April.

Summer – Usage from meter reading date in April to meter reading date in October.

Total Summer usage = 102,000 gallons.  Total Winter usage = 42,000 gallons

42,000 gallons x 125% = 53,000 gallons.  Usage over this amount will not be charged for sewer.  The water charge over this amount will be computed at the irrigation rate.  102,000 gallons – 53,000 gallons = 49,000 gallons.  Adjust for this amount.

                   Sewer                       49,000 gallons x $6.60 per 1,000 gallons = $323.40

                  Domestic Water         49,000 gallons x $4.11 per 1,000 gallons = $201.39

                  Irrigation Water         49,000 gallons x $5.14 per 1,000 gallons = $251.86

                  Irrigation Water  $251.86
Water                  -201.39
$  50.47  Additional charge for water at irrigation rates.

                         - $323.40 Adjustment for sewer
+50.47  Additional charge for water at irrigation rates
