How the odd-even practices work

Under the odd-even practices, customers at odd-numbered addresses can water on odd-numbered days; those at even-numbered addresses can water on even-numbered days.

The County is asking that residents with irrigation systems set them in accordance with the recommended practices, as much as possible.  Keep in mind that watering every other day can actually be overwatering your lawn. Area landscape and irrigation experts say only one-half to one inch of water a week is needed to keep lawns green.  Deep watering once a week, or, at most, twice a week is better than shallow watering daily.

Also, please keep in mind that weekends represent the highest times of use and the greatest challenge to the water system.
