Pulverized Glass

We are excited to get the word out about recycling the glass jars and bottles brought into the Recycling Center. Thanks to a grant received by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Recycling & Litter Prevention, Environmental Services was able to purchase a machine that pulverizes glass. The mechanics of the pulverizing process leaves the crushed glass without sharp edges.

This pulverized or crushed glass is made available free to Greene County businesses and residents on a first come, first serve basis. Please bring your own containers and trowel or shovel. NOTE: The glass will be heavy (one gallon of glass weighs approximately 11 pounds).

Stop in at our Guard Shack at 2145 Greene Way Blvd., Xenia (click here for map) and see the pulverized glass being used as a ground cover, similar to mulch, in our small landscaped area.
