FORECLOSURES

Nothing is guaranteed with foreclosure sales.

Terms for Sheriff Sales: 10% by personal check on the day of sale. Balance plus transfer/recording fees due 30 calendar days from filing of the confirmation to be paid with certified or cashiers check. All checks are to be made payable to the Greene County Sheriff's Office. Definite name and address for deed preparation is needed on the day of sale. Starting bid will be two-thirds of the appraised amount.

All sales are at the lobby of the Greene County Court House at 1:00 p.m.

All taxes and assessments that appear on the tax duplicate filed with the Greene County Treasurer will be deducted from proceeds from the sale. This includes taxes and assessments for 2009, prior years yet unpaid, and delinquent tax amounts. The successful bidder will be responsible for any subsequent taxes or assessments that appear on said tax duplicate after the date of the sale of the property.

For further information on the homes, go to www.co.greene.oh.us click on GIS - GIS Mapping under on-line tools and properties can be search by address, parcel number or by current owner. No access can be gained to the property for inspection prior to the sale or after the sale until the deed is transferred and recorded into the purchaser’s name. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has no information on the condition or the layout of the homes. Utility bills may be the responsibility of the purchaser.

The appraisal is based upon an outside appraisal only. It does not include an examination of the interior of the property. The appraisers assume no responsibility for, and give no weight to, unknown legal matters, including but not limited to, concealed or latent defects, and/or the presence of harmful or said chemicals, pollutants, or gases.
